Who am I?
“Run to travel, travel to discover, discover to share”
I am Julien and I have been practicing trail running for over 10 years now and this motto is what drives me!
Originally from Lille and after having explored Guadeloupe for 13 years, I have been a mountain guide since 2020, based on the island of Reunion!
During my years of practice, I have participated in races ranging from 6km to 180km in various places around the world, including Guadeloupe, Chile, Costa Rica, Thailand, Metropolitan France and of course Reunion Island! (including 3 Diagonales des fous, a Mascareignes, an Ultra
Circus Marathon...).
Passionate about nature and surpassing oneself, I trained and continue to learn in order to better share my experience.
I am lucky to spend a lot of time in the field and to be able to transmit the richness of Reunion culture whether through hiking or trail running.
There are also always a few sports ideas and projects floating around in my head... I look forward to sharing them with you!
Coaching :
Supporting an athlete in their progression or a project turned out to be obvious to me.
In my previous lives, I spent a long time supervising teams in different fields.
Today, with coaching, I find this side that I loved in team management:
“to advance a person based on who they are.”
We are all unique individuals, with our own perceptions, characters, physical qualities and personal motivations. Finding the ideal training and the most suitable planning for a key objective, whether it marks a career or a life, is for me a source of great motivation.
Humans are social beings, and direct exchange, essential to establish a bond of trust with the athlete, is one of the pillars of my coaching. It allows me to support the athlete in his progression and development.
Approach:
There is no universal method, my approach is more of an athlete = a process.
I question myself with each new athlete or at the start of each season. Interacting with other coaches and other athletes allows me to cultivate my curiosity and to be able to improve my skills every day.
